Sunshine

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. We sure did. Got phone calls from all of the kids. My sisters didn't call but thats nothing new, they never call. oh well. I got a cool "Vale Colorado" hat and my better half got 2 beautiful silver bracelets. Roxanne got some miniture tennis balls to play with. Now for the weather report..I know your probably sick of hearing about the crappy weather, but hey, its all i got.. Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Sunday it rained nonstop. Almost 3 inches! We are down in the valley today and the sun is shining and its warm (57). Back up in the foothills its probably still raining and in the 30's. Had to come to Walmart and Starbucks. We wanted to go to the picture show and see True Grit. But as we drove past the parking lot with about a thousand cars in it we decided to wait another week before we would try it. From all of the trailers ive seen it looks good. Had to believe somone could do a better job than the DUKE. We dont have any big plans for New Year's, although we stocked up on a lot of wine just in case. Ive added a couple of pictures. The first one and the third are of the same streach of road. A couple of months apart. The other one is the main road thru the park..The snowy pics are from the big snow storm we had at Thanksgiving..

Wednesday 12-22-2010

Its Wednesday and the rain has stopped! Im sorry, i know i sound like a weather forecaster but its nice here when its not raining. Our troubles with the internet continue. I can't access it in our house so i either have to come to the office and get on it there or drive 12 miles to get it. Of course going to a bar had alot of fringe benefits.. Mainly beer with a Pizza. The owner of the r.v. park keeps promising to move a wireless router out in the park so we can get it at home. Empty promises.  Christmas is rapidly approaching and its time to stop and reflect on things. Some of the things we miss is Mexican food. Gringo's and Papasitos. Also El Charro's. El Charro makes the best breakfast burritos.....Also my motorcycle. She 's in storage missing me. At least i hope she is. We miss the wide open horizons of the Hill Country and the beautiful sunsets. I miss fishing at the dike. We miss Cocoa. Best dog ever.. No contest. And last but not least our wonderful friends and our great family. To all of you, i say : Merry Christmas, may God bless y'all and we love you...

Welcome

First let me say hello to our dear friends Sean and Rhondie..  Thank you for joining our list of followers. We are up to a grand total of 2. Im really enjoying y'alls blog. Keep it up.  Sean i apologize for miss spelling your name in all of those emails. In yesterdays blog i said we had 5 3/4 inches of rain since early Friday morning. Well the total is now up to 8 inches and its still raining. It did stop raining for 2 hours this afternoon when it switched over to snow. We got 2-3 inches of snow. they are still forecasting several more days of rain....On the bright side, i think Roxanne is learning to swim.. Ok, i wanna talk some football. I was a Houston Oiler from the beginning. Love ya Blue, and when they moved to Nashville i was heart broken just like everyone else who was a  fan. Then the Texans come along and things are different. Probably  because im a old geezer now. I just haven't gotten interested in them..much..But after this season..They can kiss my sagging butt. Ive had it....fire'em all..enough said..thanks for reading my rant.

Rainy Sunday

You know how the tv weather forecasters always exaggerate the weather. A drizzle becomes a deluge and a deluge becomes a flood of biblical proportions? Well we have found a place thats gets it right. The tv stations in Sacramento  nailed this one. They told us it was going to rain up a storm and it has. It started raining late Thursday night/ early Friday morning and by Saturday evening it had rained 5 3/4 inches! And its supposed to continue raining until Thursday or Friday or next week or next month... Who knows...And of course, the power went off this morning. In a RV park when the power goes off you lose the lights, water, phones, and the sewage system shuts down. So being the good employees that we are, we packed up and got the hell outta Dodge. We dont have to go back until Tueday.Sooner if the power comes on. How will we know when the lights come back on? Every so often we call our home number, if the answering machine comes on we will know the power is back on..In the meantime we are hanging out  at Starbucks swilling coffee, people watching  and missing our friends and family..

Thursday...MMMMMMMMMMMM PIzza

Thursday is our day off this  week and we slept late, im to embarrased to say how late.It was still in the A.M. but just barely.First thing we did was get dressed and head to the 49er pizza parlor in beautiful downtown North San Juan. I've attached a picture so you can see what a metropolis North San Juan is. There is a bar (busiest place in town) a small grocery store and the pizza place all in the same building.. The building was a old Wells Fargo gold storage building back in the day..Back to the pizza.. best pizza ive ever eaten! Now comes the bad part..The Walk. We have to "walk off " the pizza..How many hours, days, does  it take to "walk off" 4 giant pieces of pizza? I will let you know....in a day or two..

Today Dec 14th spent the early part of the day splitting wood and cleaning one cabin. Hard to keep enough firewood handy. Raining cats  and dogs since  2am. They sure could use some of this rain back in the Hill Country. No snow in the seven day forecast.

dec 12 2010

Yesterday was a good day. We did a 2 hour hike thru the woods. Found a ditch the miners dug back in the 1850's. They used it to bring water down to their sluice boxes so they could pan for gold.Got home just before dark (4:20).Gotta love northern California..
December 13th, we are new at this.  Hello everyone, welcome to our newsletter.  We will be posting notes and photos for all to see our exploits.  Hope you enjoy. (We just have to figure out how to use this)
